I’ve been playing bass casually for the last 8 years, mostly for fun through Rocksmith 2014 and streaming on Twitch. Over that time, I’ve developed strong playing ability, both on-stream and off, with an intermediate-to-advanced level of technical skill.

When it comes to playing with a band I’m a beginner in terms of live jamming experience, but I’m eager to learn, adapt, and grow in that setting. My strengths are solid playing technique and the ability to learn quickly once I’ve memorized the material. Right now my main focus is getting my memorization and timing down so I can play a full set without relying on tabs or sight reading, and making sure I can lock in with the drums and keep the rhythm solid so the rest of the band can follow. I’m looking for bandmates who are ready to work together, have patience during my transition into live band playing, and are just as committed to making something great.

Right now I’m working with a dedicated guitarist here in Hamilton. We’re forming a band with the initial focus on being a Billy Talent / Canadian punk tribute, covering Billy Talent, other punk bands, and Canadian hits while also developing original material. We’ve already jammed together, have strong commitment, and are now looking to add a vocalist and drummer to complete the lineup. He’s 23, has been playing guitar and Billy Talent/punk stuff since he was a kid, brings good gear and DAW experience, and is willing to invest in what the band needs. Our goal is to play bars and local spots and eventually play bigger shows. We’re open to renting rehearsal space and doing hybrid online/in-person practice sessions from home. We have commuting ability including a truck and are open to discussing members commuting if they’re not based in Hamilton.
