ABOUT

I have been playing for a long time but not much in the last few years. I just got a guitar and amp after several years without and am currently working to get my skills back up to par. My range of music and genres that I like to play go beyond what selections allowed here and is very wide: from Blues to almost all kinds of Rock, Progressive, New Wave, 80's, even a small selection of country-ish and crossover. Basically, if I like it, I'm willing to learn to play it - and I like a lot of music. I like to mix it up and keep it challenging and fresh. I don't read music or tabs; I've played by ear and used cord diagrams almost all my life and have no trouble learning songs or even entire albums this way. I also learn by watching other guitarists play either on video or while jamming.

EQUIPMENT

The guitar is a Kramer Vanguard with DiMarzio pickups and a Floyd Rose locking bridge. The amp is a Fender sidekick Reverb 30 from the 80's. My pedal collection to date includes a Morley passive volume pedal; Boss Super Chorus, Metal Zone and Overdrive; Behringer Tube Amp Modeller, Digital Delay and Digital Reverb. My latest pedal is a NuX Time Force delay pedal which I'm having loads of fun with; it's programmable, has memory for 9 presets and is more versatile than the Behringer but I like having 2 DD's so I can set them for different timings without having to make adjustments on the fly. I plan to add a Compression Sustainer, Wah, Flanger, Phase Shifter, Harmonizer, Drop Tuner and a synth unit as I go, and create an effects loop, since my amp supports it.
