Hey,
My name is Jay Andrews and I'm a professional musician in Toronto. My focuses are DJing, producing, playing various types of percussion (world, vocal and electronic percussion), Beat Boxing, and stage performance. I've toured with both bands and theatre type performances and have over 20 years experience playing numerous styles of music. I've played and toured with artists such as Squid: Precision drumming (https://www.squidband.com/) Ashley MacIsaac (http://www.ashleymacisaac.com/home), Ria Mae (http://www.riamae.com/), Drum! (Drumshow.ca) Classified (http://www.classifiedofficial.com/) and The East Pointers (http://eastpointers.ca/). I've also performed for brands such as Molson Coors, Redbull, The Canada Games, and the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
I've had the opportunity to open for acts such as Girltalk, Steve Aoki, The Black Eyed Peas and Skratch Bastid with my mashup / percussion show 'Sticks' (www.Stickswork.com). I've also toured in Canada and the U.S. with this show!
I also do a lot of work in Celtic music and created my show 'Shreem' about 2 years ago. (www.Shreemmusic.com) Shreem blends celtic music with electronic music and live percussion to create a contemporary type of World Music.
I'm available for hire as a player, producer and performer, and I love to try new gigs, and different styles of performing, for both corporate or club / venue / festival dates. I'm available for touring and fly out of Toronto, Canada.
My Sticks percussion set up is available to use on shows as well and I have an assortment of percussion instruments, electronic instruments and effects units available!
