ABOUT

About the Project: Looking to CRUSH 2026

Hangman’s Holiday is a heavy, blues-soaked grind outfit that lives in the shadow between Southern Gothic and High-Octane Rock. We take the soulful storytelling of Larkin Poe and Chris Stapleton and run them through the heavy, riff-driven filter of Black Label Society and Black Sabbath.

We aren't your typical bar band. We’re building a sound that is "swampy, detuned, and dangerous." We blend the grit of an old delta blues record with the tectonic weight of a metal show.

Who We’re Looking For:

The Voice (Female Lead): We need a frontwoman who can channel the "soul" of Bonnie Raitt but the "steel" of Megan Lovell. You need a voice that can cut through a wall of fuzz—expressive, powerful, and comfortable with dark, moody melodies (with a little dust from the road sprinkled on top).

The Engine (Drums & Bass): Think Bill Ward (Sabbath) meets Steve Gorman (Black Crowes). We need a rhythm section that prioritizes swing and weight over speed. If you can make a heavy groove feel like it’s breathing, you’re the right fit.

The Shadow (Rhythm Guitar): Someone to hold down the grit while the lead guitar ventures into high-gain territory. Strong acoustic skills are a massive plus for our dynamic shifts. I'm 100% comfortable with sharing leads as well.

Commitment: Pro-attitude, no-drama, Durham-based rehearsals (once we're set, we'll find a rehearsal spot). We are focused on "quality over quantity"—fewer gigs, but bigger impact. We want to be the loudest, most soulful thing on the bill.

Original lyrics and/or riffs highly encouraged!!
