Hey! I'm primarily a bass player, but I also mess around on keyboards, guitar, and drums. I've always loved learning different instruments because it helps me understand how all the pieces fit together when making music.
I grew up listening to pop rock, alternative rock, nu metal, Filipino rock ballads, R&B, and soul. Lately, I've been diving deep into Japanese music and have really fallen in love with City Pop, Shibuya-kei, and anime soundtracks. I'm always discovering new artists and finding inspiration from different styles and cultures.
Right now, I'm part of a wadaiko (Japanese taiko drumming) ensemble and regularly perform around Calgary. It's been an awesome experience that's helped me develop my rhythm, timing, and appreciation for playing as part of a group.
I'm hoping to connect with musicians with the same musical influences as mine, or starting a Japanese song cover band or working on original music with Japanese influences. Whether it's anime openings, city pop classics, J-rock, or something completely original, I'm open to exploring ideas and seeing where they go.
Mostly, I'm looking for good people who enjoy making music, are willing to put in the effort, and want to have fun creating something together.
