ABOUT

Well, hello there.
Let me introduce myself to you.
I am Douglas Murphy, a singer, songwriter, artist, photographer, writer, naturalist, husband, father of three, and grandfather of three. (But not necessarily in that order. That always depends on the day.)

I am seeking an accomplished guitar player who can listen to any of the popular hits and reproduce them for an idea I have where I play the oldest singer / songwriter in the world who, let us say, wrote this hit but his way is always raunchy and not necessarily politically correct.
As of this writing, I am also a student taking courses in Graphic Web Design, so my plate is always packed, but I find the time to sit back and watch some television and movies daily.
My goal in life? (I have made it to 64 as of this writing, so that is one for the books.) It is to get my material and songs "out there" while I sit here and create.
My biggest claim to "fame"? There are two that stand out to me musically, that is. There are others.

"Once upon a time.
I made my way into the city of Montreal to meet up with my father at work. (My father was a carpenter who finished off offices.) Dad's lunchtime and the other workers came out as I walked into the building. I could not find my father, but then I heard whistling, and the tune was one of my own, and I followed that sound and saw him. I never thought that my father listened to what I wrote. "

"Later, married and my three children are mostly grown, I found out that some recordings of mine made their way to my son's devices that they listened to and shared with their friends. WOW! What a compliment."
Both tales made me proud and confident that I could be on the right track. (40 some odd years later. Life has a way of speeding by and taking up one's time with life.)
