ABOUT

I play a lot, and always have been pretty much that way. Had a gig I called ‘a lounge act’ for a while doing there what I do mostly at home playing what are loosely called guitar covers in some circles. Specifically that has me playing along to a youtube or audio file.

Sourced from within a predominately folk background branching off into everywhere else really. If it was a popular tune I’ll know it, and I can give a decent account of myself. The wrinkle in all of this is that I play entirely by ear and don’t claim to know more than how to find what note I’m playing within a second or two.

Looking for someone who carries a tune and wants some background effect. Growing up I was a fan of finger picking wizards and in that category Bruce Cockburn was top of the pile.. Since then I have listened to and played along various paths; into finger style, classic rock, and more, including legacy contemporary, Canadian and not, and anything in the Knoffler category goes well. James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Blue Rodeo, Balckie and the Rodeo Kings, Shari Ulrich, Bonnie Raitt.

It gets a little silly trying to define influences frankly. Lately I've been led astray and introduced to prog rock which I don't fancy playing but enjoy for its own merits.

I can host if there’s an ambition to do that after an exchange info and music prior…

In the end I seek to participate in something that feels like friends jamming, perhaps with options to share music and fun outside that direct circle. I am retired but still think music belongs in evening time for the most part.

Please note… I have my deep country fix weekly at a jam I go to, so musically it would be best if you veer north and east…
