Into making spacey, mellow music. Not interested in fast, dissonant or aggressive music. Not interested in being in a cover band.
I am not a professional musician, but also not a complete casual. I played in many bands growing up, as well as doing some limited studio work and playing in pits for local theatres as a bassist. I took a long break from doing so to establish my career and family, but still have a passion for making music.
I'm looking to meet a group of likeminded musicians to write, record and play gigs. I'm reliable/professional and easy to get along with. I have a stable M-F 9-5, but I want to put some regular time into making music that I'm proud of and think is worth putting into the world. I would like to be able to play live without it being embarrassing, but am doing this for personal gratification and not to 'make it big' or get discovered.

Brian Eno, Grouper, Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation, Bohren & Der Club of Gore, and Sigur Ros. I'm also interested in the ambient end of the jazz spectrum (Nala Sinephro, IASW-era Miles Davis, some of Alice Coltrane's stuff, etc).
