ABOUT

My professional music career began in 1972 when I joined Willie P. Bennett’s Bone China Band in London, Ontario. As "Banjo Dan", I was soon performing with other notable Canadian singer-songwriters such as Cris Cuddy, Sneezy Waters, and Colleen Peterson, and with groups such as the Good Brothers and the Dixie Flyers.

While raising a family in Alberta, I was still very active in the arts and performing around the province. Since retiring to Salmon Arm, I'm grateful to have played with some of the Shuswap’s best performers including Dan Engelland, Derrin Herting, Joanne Stacey, Shoeswap, Butterball, and the LA Johnson Group. I currently play keys and lap steel in the Blind Bay Blues Band. I like to keep the audience dancing!

However, I still enjoy looking for new sounds in acoustic blues, bluegrass, jazz... let’s call it “hillbilly bluejazz”. I am especially interested in working with singer-songwriters.

I can also provide lessons and recording.
