ABOUT

Antonio Ribeiro began his studies on the recorder in 1992 and later transitioned to the transverse flute in 1998, studying with Lena Horta, from Toninho Horta's Orquestra Fantasma, and with Sergeant Guttenberg, from the Army Orchestra of Rio de Janeiro.

Self-taught, he also started playing alto and tenor saxophones in 2002, performing in various shows with the group Caixa Acústica.

In addition to participating in the recording of Caixa Acústica's debut CD in 2000, he also recorded with other artists and performed with musicians such as Carlos Balla, Ronaldo Diamante, Zeppa, Pascoal Meirelles, and Fernando Merlino.

Living in Toronto, Canada since 2015, he founded the group Aquarela Brasil, with a repertoire of bossa nova and samba, performing in several notable venues such as the traditional Lula Lounge, Alchemy, and Pepper's Cafe. Among many performances, a highlight was opening for the Brazilian group *Casuarina*.
