The songs are stories, lyrical vignettes that take you places, sometimes dark or melancholy, often whimsical, but undeniably relatable.
I spent a decade developing the concept, writing songs, and playing wherever I could. By March 2020, I was gigging regularly, and booked to start recording. Then ... pandemic.
1st album was just released in May 2023.
I'm looking to put together a band of like-minded folks to fill out umberlune's sound for gigging, around Toronto, Montreal & Ottawa, etc..., recording next album(s), and I'm open to explore co-writing.

I would be into putting together a band of women (all self-identifying), queer, and otherwise marginalized people who are committed to rocking out, touring, recording and, possibly, writing together. I'm not averse to people who don't fit that description, but they have to be people who treat people like people.
I love my current drummer but he is busy with 3 other bands and is finding it difficult to coordinate between commitments.

Joni, Leonard, all the Canadian Sarahs (Harmer, McLachlan, Slean, etc...), Björk, Paul Simon, GWAR, Mike Patton (and all his projects), Jean Leloup, ... I'm going to keep adding to this list - it may be endless!
Also, in a general sense: human interactions that pull at my heart and loins, words that feel good coming out of my mouth, a train whistle cutting through the air on a lonely night, ghosts & skeletons...
I love so many different kinds of music, I can't narrow it down. My favourite thing in the world is live music - as a performer or in the audience.
