One for Me
One for MeHappy Valentine's Day!
Not LostIts raining out and I started this riff and followed it from there. brand new today. :)
The Other Day
The Other Daya throwback Thursday of a track co written with Alan Hutchinson back in I believe 1998. I was playing with the idea of non specificness of that phrase. I think I was also annoyed lol! the sound quality is due to it being off of a cassette tape. I did try lol
Star Carrmore and idea than a full song. literally brand new from this morning. Cheers!
Coffee And Chocolates
Coffee And Chocolatesjust made this morning and thinking about some lovely things. Simple and yummy.
Income DictatesWritten and recorded just this morning...Somewhat self explanatory. Based off one of the first things you learn in Sociology. You wouldn't tell astronauts to economize around use of air.
A Hold on the World
A Hold on the WorldSong about priorities. Doesn't matter what iPhone you have if you can't live where you do anymore. Just wrote and recorded this morning.
Missed ConnectionsSixth track taken from my debut solo album "The Goldblacks" which was released May 2019 and recorded in the first two weeks of the year. Enjoy!
AnnaLittle idea from this morning. The name came from a vocal cue I gave myself as, well, you can't strike the strings with a keyboard the same way as a guitar to count in lol! Well aware that this girl's name is likely not Anna but it was the right kind of image I was going for. Was thinking more almost Belle and Sebastian or something (Girl on a bike...riding up and down)
RedNot really sure, it's more just a sound and some ideas I put together around the subject of love, relationships, sexuality and way the mind processes things. I always find this such a fascinating subject, as it always creates such tension more than any other thing.
So Different Now
So Different Nowjust written this morning so creating as I go like laying tracks in front of an oncoming track.
Island View 4 am
Island View 4 amAnother venture towards my desire to create slower ambient sorts of tracks. Started this quite early so that sort of drove the feeling of it, which actually had me turning off lights in the room to feel it more. Very simple but that's kind of what I'm trying to explore. Wanted other sounds there but didn't want them to overtake to much or turn into a jam happy mess.
Peacemakerfirst go at a concept for a project that I would like to do. Have some ideas which way I'd like to take it but have to leave that with me. The subject of peace is at the center of it but being such a well trodden road I want to come at it my own way.
Canopies of Light
Canopies of Lightstarted as you might imagine with the piano and then just followed this idea. I kept trying to bring lyrics in but I liked the more swelling thing. Its like you have to find where it wants to go and not just bring in your own preconceived ideas or "oh, it's like this guy here" I don't know but I like it. Enjoy! :)
The ApproachThe forth single taken from my album "The Goldblacks" Spoken word part by Victoria BC actor Susan Ko. Written and recorded in Victoria BC Canada with drums by G Stomper. Enjoy!
Heart of the House
Heart of the HouseI don't know what I'd really classify this as. The title reminds me of Depeche Mode (Here is the House) but the feel has a lot of Cocteau Twins with that flat five thing that I got from Scott Walker. The phrase came from, of all places, Adam and Joe at work. Sometimes you hear or read something and just go "Ooo!"
ReasonWritten in 2018, Reason is the 3rd release from the upcoming "The Goldblacks" album. Recorded and produced in Victoria, British Columbia Canada
MotocrossOne Christmas after I had just come out of a long term relationship my young niece was passed out on the couch with very loud motorcycles on television. I knew that if I changed anything she would wake up and cry. Metaphorically I knew the feeling.
Tattered SailsAcoustic delay idea version of this song I wrote back in 1997. I wrote this while my friend and her child were asleep. All three of us had gone through so much and I wanted to play something soft. This song's original version happened. It was then turned into a techno song but I always preferred the acoustic side as the electronic felt too synthetic. Enjoy!
MineNew version of a song I wrote back when "Waydowntown" first came out, based on both elements of that film and other things.
Take Me Higher (Live At The Library)
Take Me Higher (Live At The Library)1/3 live at the library technically as I put the bass and keys on after and mixed through my L12 and Audacity. Enjoy!
Secret StarFrom the upcoming album The Goldblacks recorded January 2019
