Starting up a good metal band is always the mindset when musicians first start out, but for Fates Calling, good is well, just not good enough.
Originally formed in November of 2008, the then band without a name had a very determined direction. Both Galib (drums) and Jason (guitars) were determined to make their mark in the Canadian metal scene, and have been making every effort to see that possibility through. Their dedication has seen them through some extreemly difficult life encounters, and the fire to ignight this stale scene we call Canadian Metal is already burning. With the recruitment of Andrew (vocals) as of June 2009, the vocalization on the tracks that they already have recorded has been mind-numbing. This kid can scream! Matching that up with Jason's ability to shred beautiful passages and Galib's flawless exicution of limb independancy, this band is ready to make music their full time career.
Infusing blends from progressive metal, thrash, death metal and even good old classic rock, Fates Calling meshs sounds that would otherwise seem untameable. This is due to Jason's rythmic ability to come up with brutally complex and driving song structures, and Galib's desire to make every note lock into time itself. With a common love of progressive metal, Fates Calling never looses the groove of a perfect headbanging riff even while permutating structures within it. When you come out to see them preform live, you will experience just what I mean. Their energy is so entrancing that you will want to throw down right along side them.
