Tip The Scales is progressive, djent and groove metal with lots of melodic elements. We began writing originals from day one back in jan 2014 and are getting close to finishing enough songs for a debut album. Ian (guitarist) specializes in writing creative riffs that flow seamlessly into one another and are so melodic they can be classified as both rhythm and lead guitar parts. We need a 2nd or even 3rd guitar player who can harmonize these riffs, add shredding solos, ambient chord voicings etc to our sound.
We are also looking for a solid bass player who can double riffs when necessary but has the chops to come up with groovy and technical bass parts that compliment the music well.
Our name originated from the fact that the 3 of us have a wide taste in music and we are always trying to find the balance between extremes like: beatdown, death core, jazz and metal core for ex.
Each song "tips the scales" in one direction or another.
