Influences
I enjoy performing most styles of music. I have been a regular orchestra and wind ensemble member on various brass and wind instruments and have played horns in the pit for multiple stage productions in the Belleville and Kingston area.
I have gigged in several horn quintets, a New Orleans-style jazz six-piece for years, on trumpet. I've played in rock cover bands on rhythm guitar and bass, sung and played Beatles, Elton John and Billy Joel shows on keys in recent years.
I've also been a Fifer and bugler at Fort Henry, I play organ, piano, trumpet and guitars in local churches and I will be leading a community choir in Wellington in summer 2022.
I've been learning a lot of blues and folk in jams and song circles over the past couple of years, learning from some of the more learned locals.
I currently sing and perform double and electric bass with a bluegrass/folk trio and with a jazz trio I organize with keys and sax. The bluegrass trio just recorded an album in December 2021. The jazz trio recently performed at Consecon Porchfest.
I write and arrange music for all of these groups, but like to perform covers of songs in different styles.
