Thorsguard is looking for a female singer to co-lead on our new album. Who is Thorsguard? Founded by vocalist Damien Hicks early 2022, Thorsguard is a studio project influenced heavily by Amon Amarth and Equilibrium, with the aim to create music in a way that caters to work heavy schedules. Limited shows prioritizing festivals over local performances and consistent online engagement was the goal, and with good friend Taran Wickstrom hitting the guitar, an album was written in 6 months time. The next few months would have Damien and Taran recording in the studio, and session after session it became apparent. Damien's Vocals were too heavy! The song never let up vocally and soon, his brutal vocals became tamed to over exposure and the songs were slowly losing their edge. After many failed experiments there was only one solution, and that solution is you!
If you like Eluvietie, Brothers of Metal, Amon Amarth, Equilibrium, Epica, Beyond the Black, Amaranth, than this is your chance to join something special! And to help you in the selection process, here is a quick list of prerequisites and assets we are looking for.
Prerequisites:
1. Must be able to record at home or be punctual in scheduled studio sessions.
2. Must have reliable transportation if located outside of Edmonton. Studio is located in Fort Saskatchewan and rides will only be offered from within Edmonton city limits, Sherwood Park, or St. Albert.
3. Must be able to travel outside Canada as some festivals will take us to the states and beyond!
4. Must be social. Audience engagement is vital to Thorsguard and being able to hold a conversation as well as maintain a entertaining persona while interacting online is most important to the success as a studio band with so few shows a year to offer.
5. Must own a computer or anything that allows you to access and download tracks shared between the bands.
Assets:
1. Good understanding of Daw's (protools and reaper) and MIDI and being able to record scratch tracks at home.
2. Experience performing live.
3. Orchestral Composition.
4. Can play keyboards or bass guitar while singing. (big time bonus points but definitely not mandatory)
5. Good understanding of social media platforms (facebook, instagram, twitter, tik tok, and youtube)
