The Starling Effect is a rock band from Vancouver. We like alternative, indie, postpunk, and shoegaze, among other things. Many of our influences are from the '80s and '90s, but we try to do new things with them.

We like shimmery, atmospheric sounds but we also enjoying rocking out at times.

We are looking mostly for a bass player, but would prefer to find someone who can also play guitar and other instruments as well as providing backing vocals.

We are also seeking like-minded bands to play local shows with.
