We are a four piece R&B, Soul, Funk Blues mix. Guitar, Drums, Hammond, and Bass.

All members sing. We are experienced players each with more than 25 years of playing experience.

We look for music that grooves. We also like to jam live depending on how the room is reacting to what we are doing

Lucas - Lead guitar & Vocals

Lucas has been playing and studying music for more than 30 years. He began playing guitar at the age of 10.

Listening to old blues records, Lucas began learning the licks of some of his favourite players including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and others. By this time he had already been playing drums and piano for a number of years.

LucasÃƒÂ¢Ã¯Â¿Â½Ã¯Â¿Â½ guitar work is a blend of older influences like the ones listed above, and more modern players like Robben Ford, Matt Schofield, Greg Koch, Joe Bonamassa and John Mayer.

Lucas is an exceptional guitarist and solid front man that really gets into his performances.

Antti - drums & vocals

Antti has been playing and studying percussion for over 30 years.

He has played the Toronto music scene extensively and has played locally with The Midnight Cruisers, Fridays Karma, Judy Kanyo and others.

His many years of professional experience allow him to play a variety of styles including blues, funk, rock, jazz, country and more.

Antti is also an excellent vocalist and handles the lead vocal responsibilities on a number of The Barrelhouse Poets tunes in addition to regularly providing backing vocals and harmonies with Jeff and Lucas.

Not only does he play drums but he builds them too! HeÃƒÂ¢Ã¯Â¿Â½Ã¯Â¿Â½s an exceptional player with great presence and feel.

Jeff - keyboards, rhythm guitar & vocals

Jeff is a creative musician with 12 year of traditional piano followed by more than 20 years of professional guitar playing and vocals.

Jeff has recorded CDs with a wide variety of local Toronto bands ranging from rock and pop to blues, R&B and funk.

He's been a front vocalist for the Young Executives, then Hip Fitz, and The 13th and other recording projects throughout the last 20 years while also tuning his recording an engineering skills with modern software and movie soundtracks in Canada and the USA.

With diverse influences, it's not unusual to hear Jeff weaving funk and jazz into traditional Beatles and Eric Clapton standards. Experimental at times, Jeff can mix industrial and rap into a creation with drum loops without missing a beat - and perform it live for audiences looking to hear something different and new.

With his recent inception in the Barrelhouse Poets, expect Jeff to embellish with traditional Hammond B3 and the occasional Herbie Hancock riff on piano.

Ron - bass guitar & vocals

Ron is new to The Barrelhouse Poets and after subbing in for us on a few gigs he has become our regular bassist.

Ron studied music in school and toured extensively throughout North America. He is a seasoned pro and it shows.

He's a great presence who happens to do a hell of a Jeff Healey impression! We are thrilled to have him in the band.
