Musician & Teacher with over Twenty Years of Experience.
Music is my life’s passion and an integral driving force therein; for me the only thing more fulfilling than playing music is sharing my love of music with others, whether that be through teaching, performing, or mentoring.
My name is Stefan Melnychenko, and my relationship with music began early in life: as a child growing up in Winnipeg Manitoba, I began playing Piano at the age of 4 and completed my Level 10 in Piano from The Royal Conservatory of Music at the age of 15. My captivation with music inspired me to explore other instruments of all different types and origins. I now play nine instruments as well as sing.
My wife, daughter, and I proudly live in Winnipeg Manitoba.
As a performer and session musician, my focus is on each musical project holistically: how my part specifically compliments the entire piece; as an arranger: ensuring that the vision of the composer is constructed in a unique and appropriate way.
Another ‘instrument’ in my repertoire: the ability to capture, sonically manipulate, and produce/master recordings
I have been fortunate over the years to work with and learn from not only fellow Musicians, but also Engineers and other Musical Professionals. These encounters allowed my fascination with the process of Studio Recording to blossom into what I consider another ‘instrument’ in my repertoire: the ability to capture, sonically manipulate, and produce/master recordings of either myself or other artists’ performances.
I offer Home/Demo Recording both as a service to facilitate amateur musicians in being able to obtain and share professional grade recordings of themselves, and also as an educational experience for those interested in learning more about the recording process and studio experience.
I enjoy meeting and discussing music with novice students as well as seasoned professionals alike.
