ABOUT

I hope I can post a classified here if I'm only looking to be a lyricist for a band or solo musician. I'm open to singing as well though, I had some lessons and my teacher was quite impressed with my emotionally intense delivery and strong sense of melody. A bit about me then:

I’m in my late twenties and listen to a lot of bands that were active long before my time, many of which disbanded decades ago. Mostly old punk, post punk, new wave, and various alternative/indie/electro acts from the 70’s-present. I’m obsessed with post punk especially, my lyrical style is heavily influenced by the literate, socio-politically conscious songwriting of bands like The Chameleons, The Sound, Magazine, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Teardrop Explodes, and the more abstract, darkly surreal wordplay of Wire, The Soft Boys and Pere Ubu. So if your band has a post-punk influence or just is general snarling bitter punk my songwriting could be what you’re looking for.

New Model Army, The Adverts, The Jam and The Boomtown Rats are just some of politically-oriented punk bands that have inspired me. I write songs about current events, keep up with what’s going on in the world and comment on it in my works. In fact I recently wrote a song about the issue of police being taser-happy which concerns both Canadian and American citizens. Throw me an e-mail sometime, if any of this sounds good to you.
