ABOUT

The Silk Road is a hard-rocking quartet from around Hamilton Ontario, plying their trade in original material, adrift in a sea of mediocre cover bands.

The band began to acrete in the summer of 2005 with the pairing of Michael Hawes and Jon Gallagher via the online band classifieds. In the Fall of that year, Mark Benninger (a longtime friend of Jon's) joined on drums. With the addition of a bass player, the group began to expand the meagre offerings of the Hawes/Gallagher songwriting partnership. With the departure of the aforementioned bassist, the band progressed through scores of bass players in search of the missing piece of the puzzle. *Prospective bassists please e-mail the_silk_road@y'hoo.com*
