ABOUT

Enjoy playing folk music with some alternatives thrown in the mix. Also enjoy harmony/A-cappella singing, specifically sea shanties and seafaring music (Even before it was cool in 2021).

I started a shanty band with friends in early 2018 called Bilgewater that plays a few fun shows a year including Buccaneer Days in Esquimalt.

Am always looking for passionate shanty vocalists for Bilgewater - folks who know some shanties, want to have some fun, and can commit to bi-weekly or monthly practice. Search Bilgewater shanty band on Facebook to say hello!

During Covid a new project/band emerged called Born to Sea that is largely a duo with Guitar/Uke/Bodhran and Fiddle/Accordion. We tend to play a broad range of fun stuff such as Lukey's Boat - GBS, Elephant Gun - Beirut, If I had a Boat - Dave Mathews versio, Black and Blue - Gregory Alan Isakov, Mandolin Orange and we have a few songs written too!

Happy to play music with like-minded folk either for fun or towards a bigger project!
