ABOUT

I enjoy playing acoustic folk style music with some alternatives thrown in the mix. I also enjoy harmony/A-cappella singing, specifically sea shanties and seafaring music (Even before it was cool in 2021!).

I started a shanty band in early 2018 called Bilgewater that plays a few fun shows a year including Buccaneer Days in Esquimalt. When Covid hit, the band was put on hold, however, we were back for Buccaneer Days in 2022 and I hope to do some more!

I am actively seeking vocalists for Bilgewater. Looking for folks who know some shanties, want to have some fun, can commit to one practice a week and have some experience. Search Bilgewater shanty band on Facebook to say hello

During Covid a new project/band emerged called Born to Sea that is largely a duo with Guitar/Uke/Bodhran and Fiddle/Accordion. Occasionally another Guitar/Mando player joins us. We tend to play a broad range of fun stuff such as Lukey's Boat - GBS, Elephant Gun - Beirut, If I had a Boat - Dave Mathews version and Black and Blue - Gregory Alan Isakov. We are looking at doing some Mandolin Orange and we have a few songs written too!

Happy to play music with like-minded folk either for fun or towards a bigger project!
