ABOUT

Sean’s drumming style comes from a happy mixture of all of his playing experiences in countless environments (orchestral, jazz, theatre, rock and metal), as well as the combination of the best from all of his influences, which include classic and progressive rock; thrash, death, technical and progressive metal; as well as the jazz sensibilities of changing time signatures and dynamic volume control. Although a chameleon who can assume any style according to the needs of the context, Sean is likened in style to Neil Peart and Dave Lombardo because of his exciting mixture of progressive rock and heavy metal. He is a very strong drummer within the Toronto indie-band scene and is sought after for session work and for live shows. He plays for melodic female-fronted, progressive metal band ARYA (TIMA Best Metal 2007, Paragon X-Posure 2007 10G recording contract winners, Great Canadian Band Challenge Top 5, http://www.myspace.com/aryaband), and has played with horn-filled pop-rock group Groove (with Grammy-nominee/multiple Juno-winning songwrite/producer Justin Gray) and the prog-metal Stormbringer.
