Let’s be clear- rock music isn’t the same as it was in the 60’s-90’s.
Older generations as well as the newer generations all have one thing in common when it comes to rock fans.. we all feel something special so deep in our bones when the nostalgia of those iconic tracks begin to fill the room. That feeling is universal, it’s f*** magical honestly. Tragically, that feeling is practically unfounded when the majority of newer bands/musicians release launch their own music into the world.
For me, growing up- It was Oasis, and to this day, it’s still Oasis.
For the ol’ boys of Oasis, it was the Beatles- and for Oasis, to this day, it is still the Beatles that give them that euphoric hit of nostalgia, warmth, comfort and dopamine.
The feeling. We all know that feeling, and you probably have your own top band that gives you that feeling too, I bet on it.
All I’ve ever wanted to do in life is to form my own group of lads that felt the same way as me, and who aspire to ignite that same feeling into the souls of other people.
So, let’s get that sentimental b*ll*x out of the way.
The big picture I’m unveiling here is the opportunity of a lifetime for not only myself, but 4 other young ones as well (Including you).
All cringe and cliche’s aside.. Wanna join a band?
If you think this is a calling card or some sign that speaks to your soul, you might be tweaking on something because it is Vancouver after all- but it could also be a genuine sign, take it however you wish, it’s your cup of tea, not mine.

Auditioning fellow mates to fill the roles as follows:

• CO lead singer (co-front man)
• Rhythm guitarist
• Lead Guitarist
• Bassist
• Drummer
• Stand in (understudy) rhythm guitarist
• Stand in (understudy) drummer

Lead guitarist and co-frontman must be 100% committed to the group. There will be no understudy roles for those two positions.

FOR LEAD/FRONTMAN-
Must fit the following attributes:
-Singing capabilities; Alt/modern rock, vocally capable of performing the traits of a Britpop/early 90’s-late 90’s alt rock style, Raspy/alternating smooth tone, willing to train your vocals individually and with the band.
-IMAGE: Frontman must *naturally* fit the classic britpop appearance. Must be under 30 years of age. You do not need to look like a posh Calvin Klein model. Visually appealing to a female crowd, yet- carefree and cool in your own way to appeal to the male crowd.
Instrumental experience is not an asset to your role, your voice is your instrument.
BACKGROUND: Being a d*ckhead isn’t a dealbreaker. Just don’t go out of your way to be a sh*te person.
Respect for ladies isn’t optional. If you have mummy issues- I don’t care, I resent my mother too so there’s no excuse lad.
You do not need to be Canadian.
Brit/Irish heritage is preferred (you’ll see why near the end of this)- however, if you are Canadian/American and fit the role above the other potential lads for the role- than that’s all that matters.
Being a prick comes with the territory of the rock industry, I don’t care how bad your attitude is honestly. Just don’t play stupid games if you don’t want to win stupid prizes, y’know what I mean?

WHO AM I-
My role is front-lead which is inherently a CO-position to the role of the CO-frontman being auditioned. The open role of Co-frontman WILL be the main lead of this band, meaning- you will be the image of the band AND your talents will take up the majority of vocals in most of the band’s songs. I will be the one to handle the songwriting and track demos- although, I welcome co-writers/producers as long as they fit one of the roles above- we will not need a writer aside from those already in the band. I am [biologically] a female and obviously I identify as a lass.
My vocal sound has a natural rasp, yet feminine tone. But again- I will not be the one to lead the vocals on the majority of our songs- You will (I’m talking to you, Potential frontman).
Everything should be done together, as a band and as mates.
I guarantee you’ll be a massive fan of the music we create together- and, if you have the taste of a britpop/rock preference.. you’ll be interested in the track demos I currently have available.
My bloodline hails from the drunken ruts of Northern Ireland.
I was born and raised in Canada- by an Irish/English family.
I would prefer a frontman who reflects my own heritage, but hell, I don’t really care either where you’re from or how you talk.
The band already has 3 potential names, and personally, I favor one of those names. That’s something that we will discuss and narrow down together though.
A predominantly male band is the expectation here. The sound and image envisioned for this group does benefit from the male image & male charm.
Drummer- nobody gives a b*llox how you look.
Rhythm guitarist- Same goes for you- however, some subtle prettiness would be mega.
Lead guitarist- You can be the ugliest duck in the pond, your talent will carry the band on another level that the rest of us cannot achieve.
Do not invest any time into this band unless you’re going in with the goal of becoming something royally massive and highly anticipated world-wide.
Lastly, if you don’t want to be in it until you’re laid in your grave- don’t bother.
