Multi-talented entertainer, Robbie Van, is a performer of original music, lyrics and poetry with an eclectic mix of genres including blues, jazz, rock, reggae and rap/spoken word.
Being a child of the sixties, watching the evolution of a new world taking form and then sizzling out created in Robbie the desire for peace. She believes that her journey has helped her finally love herself, and that it is her mission now to light up the world with the only message and teaching that truly means anything: only love can change the world.
As a transgender woman with music constantly in her mind, songs like Trans Sister Radio and Hippie Daze depict her hopes and dreams of changing the anger-based world by flooding it with the light of love. So Let Your Love Light Shine!
Robbie’s fun energy, inspiring stories and talent for weaving messages of love, acceptance, whimsey, cheekiness and sometimes advocacy for causes she deeply believes in, are enjoyed by audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Her fans, known as Rump Bumpers, are enthusiastic, dedicated, and keep growing in number day by day.
After years of performing at open mic nights, coffee houses and fundraising events, Robbie recently launched her professional career at a concert in her hometown of Parksville, BC to an enthusiastic crowd of supporters and music lovers alike.
While she presently performs solo to recorded tracks, she is actively looking to hire a pianist, and hopefully a full 4-piece band.

Influences
What she brings to her vocals is inspired by her favourite artists: Janis Joplin; that wild woman with a screaming rage who got eaten up by drugs which finally consumed her talent, Billie Holiday; that smoky sultry voice with its wonderful vibrato, and Robbie’s mother; lover of opera who had her own marvellous voice.
