I've been musically interested for my entire life, though I lacked confidence in my younger years and my parents couldn't afford formal lessons, so I never really developed much skill on an instrument, though I've owned and played both electric and acoustic 6 strings at various times in my life.
I'm currently teaching my self more seriously, and have been for the past 6-9 months. I'd like to meet some other musically minded people and start jamming and learning what I can. I've also always been a singer. I have a keen ear and I'm a quick study, but most importantly I am not afraid to dedicate to proper practice.
I'm very dedicated to learning, and although I'm probably not ready to gig yet, I definitely aspire to a singer / songwriter type role. I have a strong sense of rhythm and am really good with melodies. I'd like to think that I'm a dynamic player, but really I still have a lot of work to go to get my technique correct and automatic. Once I get a piece down, I find it really straightforward to articulate it well.

Very broadly interested, but mainly classic rock and 80s / 90s rock bands. I'd be most into playing classic rock, prog rock, blues, something along those lines though I'm open to anything.
