ABOUT

I'm nearly 25, been playing as often as I get inspired. Recently been learning "This Godless Endeavor" by Nevermore (obviously the rhythm part - i'm no Jeff Loomis) but i'd love to be able to play the lead someday.

I'm currently a first year Culinary Management student at George Brown (full time 2 year program); don't know how much free time i have, but my main passion in life is music and guitar. It came down to chef school or music/guitar school, and one is definitely a more job-stable choice than the other.
I'm basically looking for some like minded individuals who also have romantic ideas of being in a big name band someday and who are also preferably more experienced/skilled than me, so i can learn new things.
I'm also new to living in downtown Toronto and would welcome new friends to hang out with and show me all the cool places.

Influences

Guitarists - Jeff Loomis, Michael Romeo, Kiko Loureiro, Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci, Chris Broderick, Gus G, Brendon Small, Buckethead, Randy (RIP), Dimebag (RIP), Zakk Wylde, MAB

Bands: Nevermore, Dark Tranquility, In This Moment, Children Of Bodom, Sylosis, Symphony-X, In Flames, Rhapsody, Kamelot, Amon Amarth, Dethklok, All that Remains, Soilwork, Linkin Park, Iron Maiden, Korn
(definitely not all of the music i listen to or am influenced by)

EQUIPMENT

Guitar - Ibanez RG 7321 (7 string modded with X2N in the bridge for high gain verse and Air Norton in the neck for fluttery solo stuff; it also sounds wonderful on clean settings or with effects).

Amp(s) - Currently only have my laptop with Amplitube 3 software and M-Audio Studiophile AV 30 desktop speakers plugged into an external sound card. (endless possibilities and the sound generated is quite accurate) Good for a mobile student.
