Michael Danso Singer, Dancer, Actor
"Stunning" is the word most often used to describe Michael Danso. His amazing talent as a singer, dancer and actor have led him to be hailed as "The Complete Entertainer". Singing with symphony orchestras and jazz groups, Michael has travelled from Toronto to Japan, China, Europe, the United States and back. He has toured extensively as a singer and dancer with "Riverdance". He has acted in dramatic roles on TV and the Stage, and has appeared in hit musicals across Europe and North America.
Originally from Scotland, Michael Danso first appeared on stage at the age of five. Ella Fitzgerald spotted him at the age of 10 and wanted to take him to the U.S. but his grandmother vetoed the idea. Michael spent the next nine years continuing to hone his talents in Scotland. He finally came to North America at the age of 19 performing in the hit musicals “Jesus Christ Superstar,”and "Hair," spent 3 years in Los Angeles as a Studio singer, then 3 more touring Japan , the Far East, and Europe.. He finally settled in Canada where he immediately became a favourite of audiences and media alike.
Michael Danso has performed in top Nightclubs, Showrooms, Festivals, and Concerthalls through-out Canada, Europe and the U.S. He appeared as a soloist with "Riverdance", and has sung and acted Leads in, "The Three Penny Opera", "Anna Lucasta", "The Boyfriend", "The African Roscius", and "The Mikado". Film and Television credits include: "Sugar Shack", "Winning Streak", "Sharon Lois and Bram". He was the first Black Entertainer in canada to have his own Television show "Just Jazz" on C.H.C.H Television , Commercials, and many other appearances on television Specials and interviews..
During his career, Mr. Danso has appeared with an innumerable number of other celebrated personalities. Michael’s newly – released C.D of Classic Jazz Material named “Give Me That Jazz” is now on high rotation on many JazzRadio stations throughout the world., and he is preparing his unique Symphonic Jazz Pops Programs “From Harlem to Hollywood” and White Tie and Tails based on the music of Harold Arlen, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington and George Gershwin for a World Tour.
His newly released single “ Love For Sale “ excerpted from his Harlem to Hollywood Cole Porter segment , performed with the Moscow symphony, has been eagerly received around the world and is selling well.
