I've been in bands since I first played professionally at 11 years old, mostly classic rock/soul/funk/pop material. I've always loved jazz from the influences of my father who played piano quite well and loved big band. I have a fondness for smooth jazz with its funk and pop undertones. What I'm unsure of is whether there's an actual market for contemporary jazz in Calgary.
