Hailing from both Toronto and neighbouring Muskoka, the members of Lightcatcher are physically from two different worlds; the bustling vibrant urgency of the city, and the beautiful, patient, nature of the north. This is felt in their music.
Their setlist is filled with powerful riffs and soaring vocals, but is softened with lyrical themes of nature and self-reflection. Songs about difficult relationships and personal lows fill the room with hard rocking guitars and powerful drum beats, but are quickly contrasted with melodic songs of hope and the beauty of life and the earth.
Inspired by classic rock, metal, and Canadian Indie, the band fuses their varied musical tastes into a sound rooted in inspiration from the bands of yesteryear such as Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin.
