ABOUT

Background:

After many years away from the music scene, I put together the Off Duty Band. I am extremely happy with how things are going so far.

Would also enjoy meeting others who are interested in jamming or who are interested in providing back up help if we’re down a guy for a gig. I’d love to have some folks to call on for fiddle and steel guitar, when finances allow and/or when it makes sense for the gig/venue.

Vision/goals:
- To continue to develop a cover band that will play an average of one gig per month.
- My main go-to genre is country, so the majority of our tunes will lean that way.
- That said, focusing on a variety of styles lends itself to more gigging opportunities. We are currently building our repertoire.

I want to do this the right way, with the right people. It’s important that you realize we’re not going to provide a regular pay cheque. We have regular day jobs so we are not looking to gig every weekend.

We currently meet together once a week on Wednesday evenings to rehearse plus whatever practice we do on our own to be ready with new material, etc.

Priorities:
- Staying true to what I feel and perform the best.
- Providing an entertaining experience for the audience.
- Maintaining respect and a strong professional reputation
– We will do our best, be reliable, be on time, be prepared, stay sober during performances, and represent each other the best we can.
- Creating a supportive team vibe – this needs to be fun or there is no point.
- Maintaining a musical environment where we each feel safe to create, and try new things.
