ABOUT

My name is Keegan MacDonald, I'm 23 years old as of February 5 2026. I've been a musician all my life. My father is a musician, he taught me guitar when I was very little. He still plays in several bands in the West Kelowna area, despite his somewhat advanced age. I'm most proficient on the drums, and I have an intermediate understanding of music theory. I was classically trained on the piano when I was younger, although I haven't played in a while. I'm sure it wouldn't take me long to relearn. I like meeting people and having fun, but if you have real goals and want to become something I'm all for that too.
I have my Certificate in Audio Engineering and Production, and I have worked in studios for a few bands. I understand how to set up microphones, headphones, amps, equipment, etc.
I can also sing, although I haven't been trained in that department I have a good ear and a good voice. I know how to do plenty, so give me a chance and I won't let you down.

Influences

Growing up I listened to lots of stuff. the first MP3 my father gave me had a very eclectic list of songs, the ones I remember the most are "The Pot" by Tool, and "Blackbird" by The Beatles. I love all kinds of music; Classical, Classic Rock, Metal, Hardcore, Punk, Alternative, Nu Metal, Post-Hardcore, as well as things like Lo-Fi, Hip-Hop, R&B, Drum & Bass, Electronic, and Dubstep.
If I had to name some influences that really made me the musician I am today I would have to say Nujabes, C418 (creator of the Minecraft soundtrack), and Chris Christodoulou (Creator of the Risk of Rain soundtrack and many more). something about video game soundtracks have always inspired me.

EQUIPMENT

As of this moment I do not have any equipment unfortunately. My father uses what he has for his own gigs so I can't reliably say I "have" anything of his. I know it's standard for a drummer to have drums, but I'm not picky. I'll play what I can get my hands on.
