My mothers best friend was Jodie Drake, a great Jazz singer from Detroit who moved to Toronto. As a child I had the amazing honor to go see her perform with other bands also like the Metro Stompers. If anything or anyone had a influence on my life and love of music and performing it was that very early exposure to live jazz!
