ABOUT

Karin Ljungh (pronounced ‘young’) is a singer/piano player from a little town called Prince Rupert on the coast of northern British Columbia, Canada. Karin has shared the stage or been billed with some of North America’s finest musicians at festivals in northern BC, such as Valdy, Ken Whitley,David Essig, Rick Scott, Shari Ulrich, UHF, Murray Porter, Laurie Thain, Taj Mahal, Steve Slade and many others. She has played piano for blues greats such as Jack Dekeyzer and Wes Mackie. Opened for Brickhouse. Karin has performed in New Zealand, Hawaii, Mexico and all over BC. It’s not that she hasn’t had the opportunities to play abroad and on the road; it’s a known fact she prefers to live in a small town on the ocean. A simple life, a cozy home with animals, and visiting the Queen Charlotte Islands (Haida Gwaii) to wander the beaches keeps the creative juices flowing and her head on straight.
Karin has performed a variety of musical styles but has a natural feel for Blues, Jazz, and traditional Country. Currently she teaches music, organizes and produces music events, and works weekends playing music in local lounges as a single or in “Hotflash”; a rock n roll duo or band, and in a blues trio with her brother, Jim Ljungh and friend Ulf Kristiansen as “Lil’ Kiki, Jimmy, The Wolf”, frequenting the Music Festivals, clubs and events of Northern BC.
Her Christmas CD is played in at least 18 radio stations across the southern USA states including BBKing Bluesville (sirus radio), bluescorner radio in Chicago, the U.K. and Germany
