J.P. Yantha wants you to have fun. “If my audience isn’t having a great time, I might as well just sing in my garage. There’s nothing better than being on stage and seeing people truly enjoying themselves” says J.P. a country artist from St. Catharines, Ont. With years of experience under his belt he’s learned that creating a fun atmosphere is the most important thing about being a musician. Through his recorded music and live performances he always aims to give people an experience they’ll want to repeat.

Not long after he began playing guitar in high school, J.P. began writing songs. He fronted a few different rock bands as he developed and recorded an EP with his hard rock band Bitter Candi. Over time, country music became a much bigger part of his musical tastes and his his style and sound shifted as well. “It’s a different side of me, but it’s 100% me. It’s the version of me that’s ready to cut loose and party!” J.P. notes. Luckily, some of his rock influence creep in, giving him a unique country sound that stands out from his counterparts. His new EP, Just Getting Started showcases this sound through upbeat songs and strong vocal performances that are smile inducing. He continues to write and perform his songs around the Niagara area.
