I come from the motion picture world as a cinematographer - working internationally on commercials, features and documentaries.
Music production is another love of mine that I have recently rekindled. I have produced and mixed soundtracks for my own films in the past, and have now gotten a set up in our home loft studio to record acoustic musicians.
I am looking to collaborate with acoustic artists to produce tracks together.
I had some formal training in my teens and 20's with drums, guitar and banjo - but as my film career took over, I lost the time to continue. I don't consider myself as a proper musician now - but do have great ears and know how to find and create great sounds, as I have spent a lot of time over the years with some top notch engineers and producers who I have collaborated with.
We went to great lengths to treat our 1600 sq ft loft (with 14
ceilings) acoustically to keep it a great sounding live room without a mushy sound. I worked with acoustics guru Taras from Kingston ON to treat the entire space. I really want to capture open room sounding performances on great mics.
