My favourite bands are the big 4 (Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax and Metallica) and other Thrash Metal bands like exodus. Someone other bands I really like are slipknot, Pantera, crowbar, machine head, van Halen, motley crue, death, and sepultura.

EQUIPMENT
I have a jackson dinky with a floyd rose and emg passive pickups. My amp is a mustang lt25, its a pretty small amp but it kicks ass at high volumes.
