NimrodZ – Green Day Cover Band (with big expansion plans) – Looking for Lead Guitarist + Keyboardist + Sound & Lighting Tech
Hey Kingston scene!
NimrodZ is a high-energy 4-piece Green Day tribute band delivering Dookie through American Idiot era vibes with attitude. We currently play 5–10 local gigs a year in clubs, bars, and small venues around Kingston and the surrounding area.
Next phase launching now:

Adding a dedicated lead guitarist (Jason White style) to cover all the second and third guitar layers, harmonies, and riffs so we can sound huge live.
Adding a keyboardist to nail the “Green Dave” parts, add layers, textures, and help us branch into new territory.
Growing into 70s/80s/90s punk, ska, and alt-rock — think Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, NOFX, and full ska bangers like Superman by Goldfinger.

Long-term vision (this is an ideas project):

Three tight ~45-minute sets per show
Adding serious video + lighting production to elevate the live experience
Writing our own punk/ska-themed originals and creative covers, using AI music tools to speed up the creative process

We’re a committed but low-pressure unit. Everyone sings — strong background vocals and harmonies are a big part of our sound. Current lineup: guitar, bass, drums, keys/vocals. We run full in-ear monitoring (no amps on stage or at practice), do 2–3 full-band rehearsals before each gig, plus monthly keys/bass/guitar hangouts. High fun, zero ego.
Currently seeking:

Lead Guitarist – Jason White vibe, loves layered Green Day tones and wants to grow with the band
Keyboardist – Solid player who can handle Green Day piano/organ/synth parts, add great harmonies, and get excited about expanding into ska, punk, and alt-rock. Keys will be a key part of our evolving sound.
Sound & Lighting Tech – someone who wants to come on the ride and help build the visual side of the show

No pay at the start (it’s a passion project), but you’ll be a full band member with equal voice in decisions and an equal cut of any door, merch, or gig money once we start getting paid.
We want to level up the production: dynamic lighting (beams, washes, strobes synced to the energy) plus video projections on a 100" backdrop behind the drums — punk graffiti, exploding visuals, and band branding. You’d help design, program, and run it all (no sound worries — we handle our own in-ears and PA mix). Experience with Rocket Show, Resolume, DMX, or similar is a big plus.
