I started as a drummer and eventually picked up rhythm guitar and piano. I have my own project (The Young Novelists) for which I play rhythm guitar and sing mostly lead vocals and some harmony vocals. My project tours 80-100 dates per year in Canada and the United States, but I'm looking to do more touring outside of that.

I state my availability below as mostly days, but I am definitely free 2-3 nights a week, for rehearsing. For shows/tours I can be available for stretches of time.

Influences

Singing drummers like Levon Helm, Ben Folds (he started as a drummer!), and Don Henley. Keith Moon and Garry Peterson (drummer for The Guess Who) are also influences.

For piano/guitar I appreciate the chord-playing types like Jackson Browne or even Neil Young's non-lead guitar work.

EQUIPMENT

For drums I use a Taye MapleStudio 4-piece drumkit with various Sabian cymbals (full set of AAX Stage, B8, and some AAMedium).

I have a Steinway grand piano (doesn't tour!) and a Nord Electro 3 (73-key) electronic keyboard. Two Fenix XL-30 acoustic guitars, a Yamaha Squier bass, an Epiphone Casino hollow-body electric guitar and use either a Fender Blues Reverb amp or a more portable Fender Blues Jr. III amp.

I also own a melodica, glockenspiel, and various percussion devices (tambourines, shakers).
