We are looking for some serious,
versatile, dedicated, and open mided musicians to play in a muti genre group called Gem Shadou. We are in the process of building the band that was founded and fronted by two 16 year old teen girls.
The girls have been going it alone as a duo for over 5 years with almost 100 gigs under their belts. Also they have eared several awards including a nomination back in 2023 for the Mississauga Music Awards - Emerging Talent Of The Year.
They have either played with instruments or by track but after the few times they got to front and perform with a band, they made the decision to have their own for live performances.
We are specifically looking for back up singers, horn players (trumpet, sax, trombone), percussionists, and a keyboardist.
You will be playing original material and cover songs for this multi genre group. It's is very important to us that if you become a member you must be comfortable performing with and taking instructions from the 2 female band leaders who will be younger than you. We need you to not only play live shows but potentially do studio work too.
Professionalism is key. The girls are very dedicated and we are looking for the same. Please no egos. And just to say again, being open minded is very important.
Gem Shadou is not limited to just one genre of music. The girls are influenced by rock (modern and classic), reggae, soca, pop, r&b, blues, and hip hop.
