Established band collaborations introduction:

Who does what; in terms of collaborating?

- I do (Valerie) write lyrics and vocal melodies as well as provide the visual concept for EyeButterfly.
- I am looking for Industrial/electronic programming first; If you want to provide just the programming (the Electronica skeleton of the song) I can also find other composers/musicians such as guitar/piano and add those to the track later. (Take in mind this may not be what the song calls for, or it may.)

- If you would like to fully compose in terms of Instrumentation, I would then take the song and add my vocal melodies and lyrics to the song itself.

- A few of you may want me to create vocal melodies and send them; I do come up with some ideas on my own and can send them to you.

What would an EyeButterfly song consist of?

- I am looking for strong verses and choruses.
- I wouldn’t mind keeping most of the songs in the 3:30 to 4:00min time frame. (Give or take a few)
- EyeButterfly is a mixture of genres, mainly Electronica. Subgenre – Industrial, Gothic, Trance, Fantasy, Techno, and New wave.
- Lyrically, Valerie take you on an in depth metaphorical trip, blending now a day’s love trials with fantasy like characters and story lines. (See websites at bottom of page for lyrics)

Let the writing process begin:

- This I am assuming, is a long distance tactic, if you are a local musician we can meet for exchange of mp3, ideas etc.
- I am hoping to get one or two songs from each band that collaborates. That is up to you.
- Basically it starts out that you may write/build a verse, chorus or even a full instrumentation track.
- Perhaps you have some extra mp3’s or parts you think would suit EyeButterfly?
- I would ask that you send your ideas in mp3 form; we can then decide on what changes need to be made etc.
- I will then write my part (vocals and lyrics) and send you back the rough copy through email, msn, or even an ftp account.

Let’s get mixing shall we?

-When mix down occurs, I would ask that you send a rendered wave file disk to me; I will take the tracks record my vocals, and send you back the disk.
- I don’t mind both parties doing a mix and seeing what one turns out the best.
- I would ask that you do not use any of the vocals for any other songs you may have in mind and I will honor the same rule with your instrumentation.
- I may be playing this song live, and would like to ask for a Compact Disk with sub grouped or a (preferred separate rendered wave file) instrumentation disk.
- I would need this CD for the live, recording, and mixing process.
- A remix is something I don't mind doing of course, so feel free to use the song in that context.
- Again, I would ask that we both agree on release of final remixes, too.
- Also external parties may ask that they can mix the song, in which I wouldn’t mind .
(We will need to provide a remix kit etc)
- Each party can do a master and choose, or I can do that on my budget.
