Hi there, I'm looking to form a band with the intentions of playing corporate gigs such as weddings, private parties, charities, fundraisers and the like. I am a drummer in his mid 30's and am seeking out:
-bass players
-guitar players
-Singers (male and/or female)
-keyboard players
-saxophone players
-trumpet players
This project is intended for players who have a passion for performing and entertaining. Yes, we are there to 'earn' but an emphasis on a passion to play is essential. If that's not apparent, you are probably in the wrong field...my 2 cents anyway.
There is some criteria that I'd prefer individuals to fulfill in order for me to weed out the hacks from the professionals. By professional I do not mean that you have a Masters in music or ARCT from RCM. Instead I have deemed the word professional to entail the following:
- Professional appearance, behaviour and attire for gigs
- Being punctual and prepared with set material
- Having their own pro..ish gear
- Being able to play in a number of different genres such as jazz, pop, rock, RnB, funk,and Latin. (different gigs require different skill sets!)
- Knowledge of music theory is not a must but preferred. Mainly so that communication amongst band members is easy and forthright
- Transportation. This one is a no brainer.
