ABOUT

My name is Lance I live in Grand Bay Westfield New Brunswick. I am originally from Baddeck Cape Breton. I am 55 and primarily a guitar player. I’m comfortable with acoustic, electric, rhythm and free style lead. I do not have a lot of experience in memorizing lead note for note. I’ve been playing 40 years but all of that has almost been exclusively self taught and when I got to the point where I could solo over my favourite tunes I guess I found my lane of comfort. I have very little technical experience or music theory. Although I plan to be devoting time to both these things daily now, especially music theory and with a later focus on soloing techniques and theory. I am on here looking to put something together in my local area. That would be between Uptown Saint John and welsford. I don’t have a definitive plan of what it would look like. I have limited experience playing publically with different arrangements from full bands to duo performances. In my experience it can be hard to put together something that really works and comes together involving just 2 people. Each person you add to the mix can change the entire chemistry and direction of the group. That change can be positive or negative. Problems I have run into in the past have mainly been scheduling problems, commitment differences and varying skill level issues. I will see if I can add a recent video to help show people my current soloing style and level of skill. Always assume anything I post with soloing is improvised.

So I guess I’m open to ideas. With what’s been happening lately in Canada I thought a cool idea could be to put together a Canadian Covers Band. Something to help celebrate our amazing history of music and help with morale.
