Hello, my name is Calvin and I am a musician/composer.

I am looking for people who like to compose music. I am open to any genre, but I mainly create orchestral metal. I do not care at all about the genre, I just want the music to be unique and original. I am not very interested in playing covers or playing other people's music, as I try to focus and improve on composing.

I can play a range of instruments with varying proficiencies. My best instrument is guitar, but I can also play other instruments.

I will do a breakdown of why I put each rating for my instrument experience:

Guitar: I can play lead guitar at high speeds and I can do all the flashy techniques (sweep picking, 8 finger tapping). It could be cleaner, but the reason I put a high rating is that I am good at writing solos and I have a very good intuition of the notes on the fretboard, and I have a good note choice, which I think is quite important.

Piano: I can play tougher piano techniques and pieces, mainly Rachmaninoff pieces. Wouldn't consider myself an excellent piano player, but I can certainly play it well.

Bass: I can play bass clean with good technique and rhythm, and I can write good basslines (I like writing contrapuntal basslines)

Drums: I can keep a beat, but nothing special. I can play a few fills, and I can double bass, but it is pretty sloppy. My writing is not that great for drum parts.

Vocals: I wrote that I am an overall moderate vocalist, because I sing both clean and growled vocals. For my clean vocals, I can hit pitches well. I am trying (not quite there yet haha) to do the high power metal-style vocals. I can do lower vocals, and I can sing bass.

I can also do low growls similar to Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth and styles similar to Phil Bozeman of Whitechapel.
