ABOUT

Former professional musician living in Calgary. My background includes classical training, gigging, as well as running my own studio on several occasions, including building the studio. Some production/recording and audio engineering background also. Really enjoy powerful, groove driven funk/jazz cross-overs as well as cross-overs in Jazz and House Music etc. Love feel-good music, and also enjoy bands WITHOUT a vocalist from time to time, which is good for the Nu-Soul.

If you were to try to pin down who I am musically, its a live-performance composer. I like to WRITE original music with others, as well as perform that original music. Yes, I am open to a Cover Band, but I've found that Covers are so pronounced that its very hard to meet other original composers. I'd prefer to make music with others, not play the standards of others.

Cheers and thanks for reading!

Influences

I want to say that the fact that BandMix only allows you to select 4 genres that you enjoy is very bizarre. I listen to dozens of genres, and I don't really understand the limitation. The genres I have ticked here are not even close to my real musical interest.

SoulIive, Bach, P Funk, Haujobb, NIN, Deicide, Beastie Boys, Rachmananoff, Roberto Milani (Robert Miles), OOMPH!, Metallica (older), Econoline Crush, Beethoven, Days of the New, Stone Temple Pilots, Orphaned Land, KNOWER, TOOL, Porcupine Tree, Tower of Power, Jiri Huska, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Paco De Lucia, Anything Amon Tobin, Most well done Anime Soundtracks (see Ghost in the Shell and so on), Good Video Game music, Larry Graham, Prince when he plays live and avoids his hits, The Dancehall Doctors when you-know-who decides to lay back and let the boys play. Led Zeppelin, John Paul Jones, Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures. Dave Grohl.
