Hey I’m Brooke, I’m a singer looking to find the right fit to start a band.

My main two ideas for projects are one lovely really acoustic based folksy blues/soul/gospel fusion kinda vibes, and then the second one would be straight up rock n roll, inspired by classic rock but modern for today’s world.

Influences

There is a huge range but I love female rockers like the Beaches, Terra Lightfoot, and Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes, to name a few. Gotta love some older rock like Joan Jett or Janis Joplin. No doubt, Paramore and the interrupters (punk band) kick ass for sure too.

For softer stuff, I like Sara Bareilles a LOT, Amy Winehouse, Ingrid Michaelson, Norah Jones, Leigh Nash, Lauren Hoffman, Hannah Georgas, and Stevie nicks of course!! Gotta Also love those female harmonies from the Good Lovelies, the Weather Station, First Aid Kit, The Wailin Jennys... And I love KT Tunstall too!

EQUIPMENT

I currently have a plug in acoustic Fender. I tend to stick to vocals though.

I have access to other equipment through my family, including an electric drum kit, bass, microphones with stands.... softer percussion options including a jambe and bongos. A few egg shakers but sadly no cow bell yet ????????
