Former music teacher and current player, my primary interest is in laying down a solid groove for any ensemble I hook up with. I can use my ear for most pop, rock and blues and can read a chord chart to accompany a jazz based project. I am also interested in working with others to develop any originals band in any of the following genres:
Swing, R. and B., Blues, Smooth Jazz, Funk, Latin, Pop or any fusion of these styles. Have played blues, rock and jazz with a variety of bands including: The Mike Almas Band, River Bandits, C.C. and the Boys and more recently The Rick Adamson Trio out of Gravenhurst. Most of these can be checked out online.
I would describe myself as a competent sideman. However, I can also contribute to a band with: background vocals, some keyboards or drums in a pinch, a practical knowledge of music theory and composition and a genuine enthusiasm for the joy of making great music. Not interested in playing classic rock covers. Much more interested in a project band: Swing, Country Swing, Latin, R. and B. or Blues.
