I have extensive vocal experience both solo and within band and harmony groups. My background experience also includes vocal and stage management and mentoring. I enjoy collaborating in songwriting and am a lifelong learner and self-taught multi-instrumentalist, who still suffers from IAS (instrument acquisition syndrome). I've never considered myself a pro but have enjoyed many wonderful entertainment and recording opportunities throughout my part-time career.
Presently looking to engage with other musicians whose focus is a directed passion rather than a salary-seeking career. Still excited to gig, but graduated past the desire to circulate the bar scenes.
As of lately my musical projects include; facilitating acoustic local jams, hosting virtual open mic stages (since 2020), providing entertainment for seniors' residences and community events.
My Ultimate Music Project on the front burner is finding compatible and enthusiastic ukulele players who would love to form a fun and vibrant group or band within Southern Alberta.
Looking for U-bass, baritone, tenor, concert, and soprano pickers and strummers. Not everyone would be required to sing but I get high on harmonies so that would definitely be a pre-requisite. Genres would include Bluegrass, Country, Folk, Rhythm & Blues, Jazz, Pop, Old Standards, RnR, Tin Pan Ally, and Southern Gospel.

Influences
This is a hard list to build as I am inspired by so many of the old Legends who wrote, performed, and created from a deep passion. Without them would we be so rich in inspriration?
The Country/Bluegrass Legends, The Folk, Rock and Pop Icons throughout the 50's, 60's,70's, 80's, and even the 90's. The Writers, The Players!!!!
The likes of, Marty Robbins; Ray Price; Merle Haggard; Don Williams; Bill Munro, Flatt & Scruggs, Roy Acuff, Hank Snow, Buck Owens; Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Del McCoury; Ralph Stanley; Charlie Louvin; Chet Atkins; Lloyd Green; Roy Clark; Merle Travis, Loretta Lynn, Buddy Emmett, Harlan Howard, Dallas Frazier, Maybell Carter, The Glen Campbells, Gordon Lightfoot, Ian Tyson, Red Stegall, Mac Davis, Randy Travis, Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, Crystal Gayle, Elvis, Sonny James, Ralph Carmichael, Burl Ives, Irving Berlin, The Classical creators and the Gospel Greats, The Southern and Appalachian influences and countless other cultures that wonderfully bled together their sounds and flavours, styles and rhythms...
The Quartets that made us fall in love with layered harmonies, boy bands, girl grooves and even Motown: The Speer Family; Blackwood Bros; Alabama; Oak Ridge Boys; Mavericks; Malpass Bros; NGDB; The Whites; The Andrew Sisters, The McQuire Sisters, The Chiffons, The Four Aces, The Four Ladds,
The Seekers, Abba, The Carpenters, BTO, CCR, Sonny & Cher, Capt & Tenille,
James Taylor, Carole King, BB King, Louis Armstrong, Jim Ed Brown; Bill Anderson; Eddie Raven; John Denver; Bob Dylan; Kate Wolf; Woody & Arlo Guthrie; Joni Mitchell; Aretha and Mahalia ..... I am running out of space and memory and probably misspelled some names......But, Inspiration and Influence for me must be gathered from all those great artists who helped to shape the colourful world of music that we have come to exist in!!! Without a single one of them, we would feel the void.
I cannot place my love of music into any one category or genre, and I strive to apply the sounds which I believe lend themselves to shape the music.
But What music suits my vocal abilities and natural rhythms? this is an altogether different topic. Most of that comes from my upbringing and early exposure, but I guarantee that all the above listed were a part of that exposure.
