ABOUT

BeezerDam is a recording project that began in the early 2000s. Writing songs and recording them has always been a passion of mine from early on. In the early days I would record my music to a cassette deck and bounce from tape to tape adding the next instrument or vocal as I progressed. It seems rather primitive now, but it was all I had available to me in the beginning.
Nowadays I record mostly to DAW. I do however from time to time like to do basic tracking on my Tascam 488 8 track cassette portastudio. I find that analog adds something to the sound that no virtual plugins can deliver.
BeezerDam has no plans for touring or live performance at this time. Life is busy and free time is precious, so what little free time I have available is spent in the studio continuing to make new and creative music.

Influences

I grew up listening to 60s rock from my dad's collection of records. In my teens I listened to a lot of grunge/alternative rock. In recent years my ears have been turned onto artists like Larkin Poe, Elise Trouw, andThe Dead South to name a few. When people say to me that there is no good new music out there today I respond with well, did you hear the latest by...?
After a few listens most of the naysayers are pleasantly surprised to find out that music is alive and well. Just sometimes not in the mainstream.

EQUIPMENT

I have a selection of older guitars and basses. One of my favorite's is my 70's Univox Rickenbacker style bass. Among my guitars is a 1959 Hofner Very Thin. My drums are an early 80's Tama Swingstar's. My recording set up is a computer.
