ABOUT

Kobè is a prolific Ghanaian / Bermudian multidisciplinary performer, producer and composer based in Canada. His work has earned awards in music, media, film, television, dance, theatre and community engagement.

His highly “edutaining” performances are hilariously interactive and animated - engaging audiences with true stories and self-made electric and acoustic instruments. Aquaa’s trademark genre is, “sonic jollof - the sound of jazz, reggae, rock and blues coming face to face with their ancestors.”

Kobe’s all-star, Djungle Bouti Orchestra, features roster of artists from Algeria to Zimbabwe, Trinidad to Tanzania and Congo to Canada. Members include Kwanza Msingwana, Kofi Ackah, Andrew Craig, Fethi Nadjem, Alex St Kitts, Marito Marques, Nimon Musiq, Austin Gembora, Atenna Hercules, Deanna Jade... Their “Djazz 2.1.4” album was acclaimed as “an audio decoding of African DNA” and nominated for a TIMA Independent Music Award.

Internationally presidents and pre-schoolers are left laughing, dancing and singing - as their emotions are woven into a diverse musical tapestry full of history, instruments, cultures and traditions. Everything has a story and the audience feels it all from the “Tale Master”
